SuLibrary — Digital & Physical Integrated Library System
Full-Stack Hybrid Campus Library Platform (MCA Final Project)
SuLibrary — Integrated Library System
A full-stack hybrid campus library platform integrating physical circulation barcode desk workflows, quota card locking, and protected digital courseware viewing.
01 System Overview
SuLibrary was built as Darshan Devadiga’s MCA Final Project at Srinivas University. It unifies physical circulation desk operations (barcode scanning, accession tracking, quota-based card locking, overdue fines, and entrance gate logging) with a protected digital academic repository.
02 Problem & Architectural Solution
The Challenge: University libraries suffered from manual ledger bottlenecks, lost physical books, uncollected fines, and unauthorized distribution of course PDFs.
The Solution: Engineered a unified platform combining barcode peripheral integration for circulation desks with a client-side protected PDF reader.
03 Engineering Challenges & Technical Solutions
Peripheral Barcode Scanner Integration
Implemented keystroke buffer listeners in JavaScript for Code 128 barcode scanners enabling rapid book issue and return desk transactions.
Quota-Based Card Lock Engine
Modeled digital library card slots that automatically lock during active physical book loans and unlock upon verified return.
04 Technology Stack
05 Key Implementation Highlights
- Accession-level physical inventory tracking.
- Protected academic e-reading room with disabled print and save functions.
- Entrance gate visitor logging with timestamp audit analytics.
